Smithy Bridge is a village in Littleborough near  Rochdale.

Within the village there are almost 1400 homes, a Methodist Church, Primary School, railway station, post office, pharmacy, take-aways and grocery stores.

There are a healthy mix of young families, working and retired population living within metres of the beautiful Hollingworth Lake and Country Park.

The Bridge Centre sits right in the heart of the village, next to and belonging to Smithy Bridge Methodist Church.

Our purpose is to serve the local community by being a hub; a meeting place, a focus for all ages and to show those around us that the local church is interested in being relevant and real in today's society.

The Bridge Centre seeks to engage with our community through weekly events as well as special events throughout the year - please see our what's on page for upcoming dates.

We offer a listening ear to anyone who needs to talk, cry or share with someone - please ask any of our volunteers if you need someone to talk to.

We offer our suspended coffee tree - others have pre-paid for drinks so that should you find yourself in a position where you are unable to pay, you can still enjoy a cuppa.

We offer reasonable prices in the charity shop so that all can afford to buy good quality items at a cheap cost.

We offer low prices in the cafe so that all can enjoy meeting with friends or a quiet lunch alone. The cafe is small and friendly and everyone is welcome.

We also offer voluntary placements to all ages and for those needing confidence, company or experience to get back into the work place after illness, bereavement or those who have  retired.

We offer training in retail or cafe work and help boost the confidence of volunteers whilst being supportive and encouraging at the same time.

We support local charities through our monthly indoor car boot sales as well as donations made elsewhere.

We run free events throughout the year but regularly at Easter, Christmas and the November Fashion Show.
